1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

We did not do a 12 day highlights vacation. Instead we contacted the vacation provider direct and with them planned a 19 day trip. See below for views on this process.
As far as memorable experiences, the list is endless. Perito Moreno glacier was amazing to see and hear - it really is blue in parts, and it was well worth paying extra to do the mini-trek. A great experience. So was horse-riding with a gaucho. Hiring a car and doing a 4 night circular tour from Salta was great. The scenery, rock formations and landscape are amazing. Some roads were challenging
but we like a bit of adventure. Wonderful Malbec red and Torrontes white wines.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Definitely contact the operator to discuss a tailor-made vacation. The areas suggested by them were spot on and they booked all flights and accommodation. Accommodation was very good and varied, from small city hotels, to vineyards. Every place had something different to offer. If you enjoy some independence and adventure with the back up of a travel agent, then the 2 areas we
hired a car were ideal. We had one for 4 days in the Lake District area, picking it up at San Martin de Los Andes and dropping it off in Bariloche. The 2nd was in Salta for 5 days. There we drove to Cachi, Molinos and Cayafate. Then back to Salta. Many of these roads were gravel and very windy but the cars provided were suitable. All well worth a stay.we had a few problems (air traffic control strike and an excursion booked on the wrong day). We had difficulty getting hold of the operator on the emergency 24 hour number. However, once we did get in contact, they did a brilliant job at rearranging things for us and covering some of the costs. Visit the Museo de Arqueologia de Alta Montana in Salta. It's fascinating. Do the Buenos Aires guided tour. It's such a huge city that this is a great way to see the most interesting bits.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes I think so. We stayed in hotels run by locals. We were advised on places to buy souvenirs from local artisans. People are very proud of their country and beautiful landscape and encourage others to look after it. Good advice on places to eat

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

An amazing country-lovely friendly people and incredible scenery, and a really good tour company. 19 days was a great length for the trip even though there is still lots more to see.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

As a local Argentina Travel Company, we hold a deep appreciation for the Earth's natural wonders and understand the importance of their preservation. However, we believe that sustainability alone is insufficient. Travel, in our view, is a potent instrument for creating a positive impact on the destinations we explore.

Let's take courageous strides toward a brighter future where we not only safeguard our planet but also leave it in a better state than we found it. This forms the bedrock of sustainable tourism.

Our Strategy: PLANT
Our approach is straightforward: PLANT. Set new objectives. Plant more. Repeat.
In collaboration with ReforestArg, we plant ten trees for every traveler to contribute to the cherished landscapes we adore.
Twice a year, we journey to Cholila, Chubut – Argentine Patagonia – to plant these trees, playing our part in preserving native forests, bolstering the local community, and giving back to Mother Earth.
Currently, we have achieved our goal of planting 20,000 native trees in Patagonia. However, our journey towards regenerative tourism is just beginning. With great pride, we redefine our objectives and introduce "Say Bosque": a forest of native trees planted in Patagonia.
Our commitment is to plant 100,000 native trees before the next Pachamama Day (August 1, 2024).

Zero-Plastic Policy
Our journeys are free of single-use plastics.
We hold our suppliers to exacting standards, requiring them to replace single-use plastics, such as bottles, containers, and disposable cutlery, with sturdy, eco-friendly alternatives.
This is a commitment we reaffirm year after year as we strive to minimize our ecological footprint and contribute to a healthier planet.
Through this initiative, we prevent more than 9,200 plastic bottles from entering the environment annually.

People

Global Commitment
We endorse international agreements to combat climate change.
Among the global commitments to sustainable tourism that we've endorsed are:

We're delighted to announce our participation as a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism.
We've embraced the Guiding Principles of the Future of Tourism.
We've also pledged our support to the Tourism Declares Climate Emergency initiative.

Community-Centric
We believe in the transformative power of travel in fostering the sustainable development of local communities.
We prioritize partnering with small, family-run businesses, advocating for independent local accommodations over large hotel chains.
By opting to travel with Say Hueque, you can rest assured that at least 80% of your expenses directly benefit the community.

Tips for Responsible Travel

Minimize your waste.
Opt for sustainable transportation.
Support local businesses by shopping locally.
Choose accommodations and tour operators committed to responsible practices.
