1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Hummingbirds and our time at Bellavista lodge. Boat trip through the mangroves with the birdlife.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

To much sitting through local village performances. With the exception of Bellavista lodge, dont expect to see much wildlife, especially at the Amazon Liana lodge where there was nothing to be seen.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Local people - yes small local hotels used rather than international chains. Visits & lunches in small restaurants, local artisans. Use of local guides, creating work and promoting value of conservation to local communities. Promotes value of conservation lodges.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

From a wildlife perspective - disappointing. Overall vacation was OK

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review, Susanne! We are so pleased to read your positive comments about the impact you felt your trip had on the local communities you visited, as this is a particularly important aspect of our operations. On the other hand, we were saddened to learn that you were disappointed with the number of village performances and lack of wildlife viewing opportunities. I am sure you can appreciate, having travelled on similar tours with us in the past, that there is never any guarantee that animals will be seen in the wild, but the high concentration of birds, monkeys and other mammals in this part of South America means that they are usually spotted by our groups. This is reflected in the generally positive reviews we receive about this tour, which scores an average rating of 4.8*, and, having reviewed your group's completed Vacation Evaluation Forms (HEFs), we were pleased to learn that this trend continued. Nevertheless, we would not wish to downplay your disappoint and we can assure you that your feedback has been shared with the product manager for her consideration. We trust this shows that we take our customers' views on board and endeavour to make improvements where we can, and we look forward to, hopefully, welcoming you on another trip with us in the future.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Hiking the Amazon rain and dry forests.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Read-up on the ecosystems, ethnography, archaeology, and history of Ecuador

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. I appreciated the sensitivity for indigenous people and their involvement in the tour. Also, our small tour group had a negligible impact on the environment. Our group was already conservation aware.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Excellent.
