Reviews for Iran vacation

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Seeing and being introduced to the wonderful Islamic architecture, tiling, mosaics, and painted interiors with excellent guides.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
If possible, have some time out in the countryside between the cities to avoid 'cultural indigestion'. WE had three days in the Nurata Mountains experiencing local life and doing some hiking. Try to have a free day in each city to wander round at leisure, re-visit some of the sights and enjoy the local people.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
This trip benefited local people by providing employment for guides, income for the Nurata village guesthouses, and the sale of craft products.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
The vacation was very interesting and enjoyable. It was our first visit to Central Asia and as well as the beautiful architecture it gave us a good insight into the development of the country and its strategic position in Central Asia.Read the operator's response here:

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
The homestay was a real highlight. We were also invited to Asura events in Yazd, where we were made very welcome and got to experience the local events.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Lots of people will look at you as if you are mad when you tell them that you are going on vacation to Iran and suggests that it is very dangerous. Ignore them. I have never been to a place where people are so pleased to meet tourists, particularly British ones.3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I think that this trip benefits local people by using local businesses, particularly the home stay and the local restaurants. We also used local guides in places and visited villages where the visit would also have supported the local economy.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
We really enjoyed this trip. The history is fascinating, the architecture is beautiful, and the people genuinely welcoming and friendly. The only point to be prepared for is that the food, whilst reasonably tasty, isn't varied and you tend to get the same things everywhere. That is not a criticism of the trip, but is just the nature of the sort of food served in restaurants in Iran.Holiday Reviews
