1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
Difficult to choose between: Halong Bay Hoi An Vespa Food Tour in Saigon My Son War Remnants Museum in Saigon2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Buy a local Sim Card for Data - c£7 for 3 months Cash is king - really easy to get from ATMs - we used a Multi-Currency Card (TransferWise) All the street food was amazing and fresh with no hygiene concerns - we preferred it over restaurant food. August was very hot and humid - if you struggle with this, go at another time3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Local guides benefited locals, and we enjoyed staying in the 'Home Stay' where we got to see more of 'real' Vietnamese life. Environmental impacts are difficult to assess as single use plastic is standard4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Fabulous mixture of cultural, historic, scenic and culinary experiences all come together in a beautiful country with genuinely friendly and helpful people. We have recommended this destination and vacation to several of our friends.Laura Cole review 28 Aug 2019
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
I loved it all but the traveling was more fun than the relaxing at the end. There was so much to see.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
It’s tricky being vegan in Vietnam!!3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We found the use of disposable plastic water bottles quite shocking and then at Mui Ne the sea was full of plastic bags and takeaway boxes.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
Fabulous .Read the operator's response here:
Thank you for your comments Laura and we are delighted that you had a good vacation with your family in Vietnam. I'm sure being a vegan in a country where the diet is based around fish products is a problem, but hopefully you and the family found enjoyable food whilst you were there!
In terms your comments on question 3, we share your regret that like many bodies of water on the planet, the South China Sea has a rubbish problem. As we all know, there is so little that one resort can do about floating ocean plastics. However, steps are being taken in the region to reduce the reliance on disposable plastic bottles and, as a company, we do ensure that as many hotels as possible on your itinerary offer a water refill service. This enables us to reduce our reliance on single use plastic to bottles of cold water during journeys. Many tourists opt not to use the refill service, as they are uncomfortable with water safety. Where this is the case, we do our best to ensure empty plastics are placed in recycle bins.
Hopefully, you did find other aspects of the vacation were more successful in benefiting local people and reducing environmental impact, this is as important to us as to you.
