Cycling to Banyoles and swimming in the beautiful lake after kayaking.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Only visit Besalu in the evening in summer (it's so hot as so few trees!)3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, because the place was very eco-friendly.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Everything about the accommodation was wonderful, starting from the warm, kind-hearted hosts (the whole family), the staff, the grounds, the pool breakfasts, sandwiches and dinners, the surrounding area, the great family atmosphere, and more. The main building is lovely and was welcoming to our handicapped grandson, the rooms in the house and the suites are spacious, airy and well-furnished, the trails around the property are beautiful and safe.2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?
Just come and enjoy, you won't be disappointed!3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The property is completely independent energy-wise, taking water from the well and electricity from solar panels. They also recommended local businesses, including horse-riding, restaurants, and music venues.4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?
We took horse riding lessons nearby. I am a wheelchair user, but the instructor/owner got me on the horse and was very encouraging and helpful teaching me beginners dressage. He really cares for his horses. We also went rowing in a nearby lake. It's a great outdoors/ activity area. Hotel owners Fiona and Gareth give 100 percent2. Be sure to rent a car. Unless you are planning a totally cycling vacation3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We ate out most evenings, and the fact that there are few tourists gives an authentic feel of that part of the country4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?
