Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

We have carefully planned and organised this vacation so that clients can access these world famous attractions without the need to drive. This is part of our goal to always be expanding our range of public transport vacations to locations that aren’t traditionally accessible without a car, to provide options for those who actively choose low-carbon transport.

All travel within this tour is either by train or by mini coach, including a small group bus tour of 8 in Glenfinnan with a local guide. Accommodation is local businesses.

We are members of AITO – The Association of Independent Tour Operators – and adhere to their strict environmental code of conduct.

Our primary marketing channel is the internet. While we do produce printed materials upon customer request, we continuously strive to minimize our paper documentation. We prefer using an app to provide vacation documents, and we are committed to recycling any leftover marketing materials.

We are corporate members of the John Muir Trust, an organisation committed to protecting the wild land of the Scottish highlands and islands.

People

Since our inception in 2003, we have been committed to supporting and preserving remote and rural lifestyles by encouraging our clients to explore lesser-known tourist spots and immerse themselves in local cultures.

To ensure an authentic experience, we establish enduring relationships with locally-owned and operated businesses. Our transfers and tours are conducted by locals who share our passion for sustainable travel.

We opt for small, family-owned accommodations for our trips and prioritize locally-sourced ingredients for our meals, which are served at local restaurant.

Our vacation packs given to client’s feature “Roberts Recommendation”, which are specific tips on local places to visit that are more off the beaten track.

Our team in Glasgow shares our values of environmental and sustainable responsibility, and they are directly employed by us to ensure that these principles are always upheld. We directly encourage our staff to take sustainable transport when traveling into work, whether this is train, bus, walking or cycling.
