Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
We operate this tour with a maximum group size of 16 travelers to minimize our impact on the culture and the environment where we visit.Suppliers:
We work with suppliers who are local families, avid outdoorsmen and cultural guardians part of the local fabric of each location that we visit.
Our guides are locals who have spent years learning about their environment and culture. They bring unaparralleled passion for their land and for passing along knowledge to our clients.
We are in constant communication with our guides to ensure that our itineraries can be executed with the least amount of impact to the environment and to the local culture.
Accommodations:
We stay in family owned lodges that conserve energy, recycle and reduce waste. Most hotels and lodges are built using local and sustainable materials. We also partner with a family owned organic farm for educational visits about sustainable homestead living. A portion of the money from this tour goes to support the local community and local programming.
People
Friends & Neighbors:We visit small and locally owned restaurants that use farm to table practices whenever possible. As well, the wineries we visit are small batch and mostly family owned, focusing on biodiverse and sustainable winemaking practices.
We partner with independent local guides and family owned lodges that conserve water and electricity, encourage sustainable practices and respect and teach about the local environment and wildlife.
There are limited tourism jobs that pay fairly in Patagonia, so we provide our local partners with competitive pay and scheduled hours that are reliable and livable.
Charity:
We always give back in the areas we visit, including working with local charities that support communities in need and protect the local ecosystems. We also make a donation to carbon offset each guest's trip. This money goes to support reforestation projects and other initiatives that reduce greenhouse gases.
A portion of our proceeds is donated to a local charity in Argentina. Comedor de la Chacra provides meals for children in Ushuaia.
