Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
This tour will transport you to an eclectic and culturally significant range of heritage sites, including two full days in Lhasa, and then to Gyangtse, Shigatse, holy Mountain Kailash and Yamdrok lakes etc... However, the impacts of tourism on the Tibetan Plateau have been acutely felt in recent times and we fully endorse the need to help manage and protect this natural wonder. Indeed, all of our tours maintain a great respect for the cultural and natural surroundings in which we visit and travel, and we have opted to use only essential methods of public or private transport for this itinerary.Activities:
Our Vision is focusing on Tibet and its neighboring areas--Mount Kailash Circuit. We respect and protect local cultures and customs of tour destinations of Tibetan areas. Offering warm, caring and considerate travel services to ensure our customers have an enjoyable trekking trip in Tibet. Trekking tour is always the best way for us to reduce the impact of travel on the local environment.
Water:
Your own water bottle will be suggested to carry with before your departure from your country. We will provide the drinking water for the participatants to refill in on a support vehicle and minimising the need to purchase bottled water.
Waste:
When trekking or hiking all waste is brought back to Lhasa or next town on their travel route and disposed of appropriately in local garbage collection facilities. These include recycling as appropriate.
Local crafts and culture:
we encourage travelers to purchase craft items direct from the artisans. Guides include visits to workshops (sculpture, textile, painting) according to the interests of the group.
Flora and fauna:
We have a set of guidelines for each long tour like this one. The flora and fauna (flowers and animals) are in abundance and wide variety in remote villages along this tour. And the weak ecological environments are complex and multiplicity, and they are damageable. we advocate ecological tourism. Footpaths crisscrossed the fields, where the crowing of cocks and the barking of dogs were heard within distance, of course we stick to footpaths. The growing number of visitors is damaging the footpaths. Both our tour assistant or our tour guide will mention this to our clients before the clients arrival.
Office:
It is advocated to recycle paper and ink cartridges to reduce the waste in landfill sites. We turn off printers, computers, battery chargers and transformers at the end of each day and use energy-efficient bulbs and low-energy appliances.
Transport:
We use 4WD along this tour most of time which have lower impact on the environment compare with the tours by big tourism bus. Our clients could not only experience the special view with good feeling, meanwhile this also distribute tourism benefits to rural locations as we rent the 4WD from local suppliers.
People
We engage locally-owned and operated services thereby supporting local people and communities as well as minimizing use of long and carbon-intensive supply chains. Our itinerary has been designed to fully incorporate the rural communities of the regions we visit, especially those in Tibet. We will also take you to incredible places away from the tourist crowds to ensure that your experiences are genuinely unique.Accommodation and Meals:
We choose all the accommodation carefully, for their location and their operating systems with recycling, water saving initiatives, renewable energy sources). Most of them are locally owned properties where possible and often include adventurous, authentic choices such as local homestays which therefore involve local people and their communities. There isn't much to eat along the trek, travelers have to buy some foods suitable for trek in Lhasa from local farmers markets and pack enough food and drinks before the trek. By working in this way your vacation will not only benefit the local communities, it will also benefit you.
Local services:
We use all local guides and drivers so that we learn about the culture and way of life directly from those who live it and put money into local hands and economies. All receive fair wages and are provided with training opportunities both direct from us and from the local tourism bureau. Our guides are also responsible for advising travelers of the appropriate recycling options available in each place.
Group size:
We use a small private 4WD vehicle during this trekkig, and keep the tour groups smal, less than 16pax, so that with less damage to the roads and communities that we visit.
